Blog 3

The prepositions in English are words that sometime stand in front of nouns; we can link to possessive that shows ownership to make sentences a little grammarly complex. These are the main topics for the week that our group number two performed on Wednesday it was not easy to choice every activity of each stage, but it was interesting to know that students response to them because I could see in their face that were so excite also they were enjoy in each stage of our class.

I will share with you about lesson plan framework was PDP, in which English skills to take into account were Listening and Speaking. The warm up was focused on reviewing some vocabulary such as sofa, DVD player, phone, lamp, and closet. Hence, the topic’s presentation was firstly to introduce possessive for instance; my closet, her lamp, his sofa and your phone.  Secondly, we explained prepositions; on, in, next to and under. On the other hand, in production state students must to say sentences combine possessive and preposition for example; where is his lamp? His lamp is on the table, to conclude the our class with wrap up stage students played “Mica” which is a Salvadorian game very funny that consist in run-away of who has the mica, the aim of this game was for knowing what students had had learned of the topic, I asked some questions using same structure before mention; Where is my ball, students’ answer: your ball is next to the box. At the end of the class, we always receive a feedback about what we did well or what we need to improve, it was nice to know that our teacher said that she liked the AIDs or teaching material because was colorful and attract for students’ attention. Even though, we need to be careful with our pronunciation when we are talking but I think regardless of that our presentation was interesting and our children love it as well.  

Blog 2

The stages of class are a big deal if teachers want to gain their class’ goal being that, it is so important an understandable lesson plan because students are guided for teachers whose must have clear what in the class is going to be achieved. This week group number one performed their first kid’s class, their topic was about “In my classroom” and planning framework was PDP¹ where is evaluated listening and speaking skills. Therefore, presentation and during states the group showed pictures to students about some action verbs for example coloring, cutting, listening , drawing  and the sentences structure was he is coloring , she is drawing , they are listening to a story thus, students responded question for instances; What he/ she is doing? What I like so much because at the beginning students were a little shy to answer but throughout the activity students participate without point them out to finally, group made an wrap up to close the class it consisted in split students in two group and they will guess an mimic doing by the opposite group, it was excellent not only because students responded   to the activity but also they proof that group’s aim was achieved due to students learned how to say some action verbs.

PDP¹ Presentation, During and Post 

Diagnostic class 1

A diagnostic class is a method to determinate students ‘strengths and weakness in some topics also to identify how much they  know, this might be evaluated through activities or quizzes. First exciting contact with the kids’ class, their ages are 9 between 11 years some of them have an English background but some other have not. We as a group used the diagnostic evaluation method to know what our students know or do not therefore, our activity consisted in give students a flash card with image in it that represent an action verb for example a kid jumping so instructions were; students will pass in front to class to make a mimic that represent the verb and the rest of the class will guess what the verb is. Students performed very well even they did not know some verbs hence, what we learned was our students needs to learn more about this topic actions verbs.  Our second activity was about personal pronouns such as I, You, He, She, They, We, It, students had had to made pair with the correct card like match them.  At the end, we noticed that students know not to much about personal pronounce even, activity was funny to kids, they needs to learn about this important topic moreover, my classmates did some activities as well and one of caught my attention was Wanda’s group perform that consisted in teach the alphabet, their activity engaged students to participate because they involved and played with them during the activity kids said the letter while playing hot potato. To conclude first contact was interesting because makes use of diagnostic method helped us and now we have an idea about students’ knowledge in English.

Workshop 2

A tale could be an interesting story but if the narrator can express it to the audience. In the last workshop  we had a homework that consisted in bring a tale and performe in from of other, for me was a big deal because never ever in my life I had said a tale to other neither act it. When I was looking the tale I was said it must be short one due to nervous I will not remember anything and it is should give a life reflection. Therefore, my tale was about disobedience when I passed in from of my classmates I feel a little nervous while I was performing the tale but suddenly, I put away my nervous even, teacher advised me no to repeat some words such as (y / and) thus, he told me I did okay and better than first time. To finish my blog I want to said that the whole workshop was nice not only we feel less stress but also we learned many things for instance a tip that I will take into in account is that as future teachers we should love what we will do and after a hard routine we should do something that makes feel unstressed for instance a massage or listening music. I could say that was an interesting and important class. 

Tools in classroom

To learn how use teaching material is not an easy deal because teachers also need to know when it uses as well. For example, I looked information for musical instruments even, it sound easy it was not, because we need to know how and when not only say names of instruments therefore, musical instruments in classroom could be used to caught students` attention, teach vocabulary etc. Thus, some of my classmates mention other tools for example grouping techniques, modeling clay. Flash cards, poppets and flip sharks one of called my attention was modeling clay because it made me remember kindergarten moreover, I think kids can have fun during they are learning. To conclude I might say that tool or teaching material is useful to teach kids in a different and in funny way. Furthermore, teachers can make students’ class participative where students can practice through real examples.   

Workshop 1

To speak in from of people is not an easy thing that’s why, this week we had a workshop related how to act in form of others specially children, who can analyze our way to say things, our body movements and tone of voice as well. When I came to this workshop I feel so nervous because somebody already told me that in those workshops is needed to do some things such as run, jump, act, and scream. Therefore, I thought this going to be interesting but I am so shy, It could be difficult for me and how I will integrate me to the group. During activities, many were done to see how each of us speak in form of others in order to improve our speaking weakness thus, I learned some tips and I noticed that some of classmates have speaking strengths also some of them showed up different abilities that surprised me greatly. To concluded, I really enjoyed doing activities that not only remembered my childhood but also I realized that needs to overcome my shyness, fears and do my best because in so soon future I will teach to children. 

  

Oral technique

Oral techniques to motive students to speak or participate in classes specially, when is taught a foreign or second language must be carefully choose. Before, when I was choosing the topic to present in order to make students speak during the class, it was a little difficult because, I think is important to take into account students’ knowledge that have about the topic and came to my mind was if students have the vocabulary needed, are they acquainted with the topic? Therefore, during the perform those question will help to do well or wrong and how it is supposed students will be confortable in class when they know what need to do, or say. To conclude, it is relevant to mention that as teachers we can allure students to participate using right activities, instructions and teaching material as well. Finally, I learned how to engage students speak even they are not acquainted with class or a new language environment, I could said that is not only to force otherwise, students desire can be influenced because of everything that is in the classroom and how teacher performed too
